Identify the actual dispenser
Ask for the pharmacy’s legal name, location, and contact details rather than only the name of the website taking payment. Keep this information with your prescription records. If different parties handle consultation, payment, and dispensing, ask which one is responsible for each step and whom to contact if something is unclear.
Use independent verification resources
FDA’s BeSafeRx resources help people evaluate online pharmacies and locate licensing information. Use an independently reached official source rather than a badge displayed by a seller. Ask your clinician or pharmacist for help if names or addresses do not match. Do not send identity or payment information merely to investigate a service you cannot verify.
Resolve discrepancies before using a product
If packaging, instructions, or the product received differs from what you expected, contact the prescribing team and dispensing pharmacy for guidance. Do not work out a substitution or dose conversion from an internet chart. Keep the original label and shipment information. This guide provides verification questions, not a certification of any particular pharmacy or medicine.
