Identify all parts of the proposal
Write down the substance name, product or preparation, proposed use, and source. If several substances are grouped under one program name, ask for them to be identified separately. A general description of a category does not establish the status of every item in it.
Separate approval from the proposed use
Ask whether an approved product is being discussed and whether the intended use is approved or off-label. If it is a compounded preparation, ask how that affects the explanation. FDA’s guidance distinguishes off-label use of an approved drug from product approval itself. Do not assume one term resolves all the questions about another.
Check the position at the time of care
Regulatory information and product availability can change. Ask the treating clinician to verify the current position and explain the basis for any proposed option. Request a primary source you can read. Hyperwell does not confirm availability of a named peptide through educational content or guarantee that consultation will lead to a prescription.
Make the conversation yours
Questions to take with you.
- What is the exact product and intended use?
- Which part is approved, off-label, compounded, or unapproved?
- What current primary source supports that explanation?
